An engineering change proposal or request (ECP or ECR) is typically prepared and then analyzed and evaluated. The analysis and evaluation results in a recommendation by the Configuration Control Board or Change Control Board (CCB) on when a change is to be made (effectivity) and what should be done to existing inventory of the old configuration assemblies and components (disposition). ERP provides data to support this evaluation. When a change is being evaluated, the following must be considered:
It is important that for the NexGen Project, the Project Sponsor and Vice President of Technology have the ability to review configuration status at any given time. The Project Manager will also submit weekly reports, to include configuration status, every Friday. This course is designed to provide a greater understanding of the Life-Cycle Sustainment Plan and to build on the knowledge base received in the previous Fundamentals of Logistics class. The Life-Cycle Sustainment Plan is now required on all Logistics Projects .
